Thanks to my reading, research, and local Pregnancy Center, I know that stimulating baby through voice, sound, and music is very important for bonding and beneficial to their development. B and I talk to baby girl every day to bond with her and baby girl really does seem to respond to our voices. She even seems to respond and like certain types of music more than others that we play for her (sometimes it seems like she is dancing to the beat…lol); however, it isn’t always convenient to crank up the radio or stereo for her to listen and feel the vibrations. My Thoughts!
The Bellybuds allow me to conveniently and easily play music for baby girl, without having to blast the speakers of our stereo. All I have to do is peel the bellyphones off of their storing “dock”, attach them to my belly, plug the audio jack into my iPod (or any other digital music player), and let the music play. I love that I even have the option of listening to the music with baby girl by attaching the audio splitter (included with your purchase) and my own ear buds, which is a great bonding experience and how I usually use my bellybuds.

I also love that Bellybuds can be used to introduce baby to the voices and messages of loved ones that are far away during your pregnancy. I am planning on using bellybuds to introduce baby girl to the voice of her Grandma C, who lives in Florida, as soon I get a recorded message from her.

About Bellybuds

“If you ask Curtis Williams (creator and co-founder), the inspiration for bellybuds happened during the 2nd trimester of his wife’s pregnancy with their first child.
“We had read that playing prenatal music to the womb was beneficial – so right around the fifth month, my wife began placing her ipod earbuds on her belly and playing classical music for our daughter. The only problem was that in order to do that, she had to lie on her back and couldn’t move – which is a lot to ask of my multi-tasking wife. It seemed like there was a possibility for something more convenient.”

I’ve heard that listening to classical music can stimulate the unborn baby’s brain before, but not anything like this! This is revolutionary! You don’t have to play JUST classical music. Belly Buds Review

I recently received a pregnancy product for review that I had never heard of until now. Bellybuds.

They are exactly what they sound like. “Buds” for your belly. Kinda like ear buds, but not. More like little, round, adhesive, speakers. They stick onto your belly so you can play music to your sweet unborn peanut. Bellybuds has done their research, you can read more here about the benefits of in-utero music listening.

It works like this: You provide the musical apparatus (i.e. ipod, cd player, walkman – anyone still use those?), and the bellybuds plug right into to any headphone hook-up. There is sticky stuff (medical grade, skin-safe, replaceable hydrogel) on the back so the buds stay in place. You can even wear bellybuds under your clothing while walking, shopping, at work etc.

Mostly I used the buds in the evenings, after my toddler went to bed. Otherwise he wanted to listen to them, he enjoyed having his own mini-speakers to hold. After he was in bed, I would get the bellybuds out, and lay in bed while reading a book, doing my daily Sudoku, or talking to my hubby. I would try to place one bud near baby’s head, and the other a little farther away, and would play music for half an hour or so (at a medium volume). Everything from Michael Jackson to Alexadre Desplat (composer), to Muse (the lighter stuff). A lot of times, the baby would move around, and sometimes not.

I have enjoyed using the bellybuds. I like that I can stimulate my baby’s brain before he is even outside the womb. I had previously tried to play music for him with regular headphones, but was never sure if he could actually hear it or not. With bellybuds, I know he can hear the music I am playing, plus it’s nice that they are hands-free. With regular headphones, I always had to hold them in place and definitely couldn’t have worn them out of the house. The buds always stuck in place, and the gel on the back of my buds is still sticky.

I cannot rave enough about this product. I love my BellyBuds. I use them every day. I use them while cleaning, doing the dishes, loading the laundry. They are very portable. The case they come in even has a clip to carry them on your backpack or your jeans. The music seems to calm my overactive baby. I love them so much.

My wife and I are expecting twins this spring, and when we heard about Belly Buds we had to give them a try. Every pregnancy book says that they can hear with their little ears, so we wanted to play them some of our favorite tunes. The buds work great! The kiddies definitely respond the the music – moving and shaking! We took them on our Babymoon to the beach and they were a lot of fun for us (and I think them too). I’m a big fan of the feature where you can plug your headphones into the buds so you can listen along and figure out which songs they like the best… Ours seem to enjoy several Beatles songs (who doesn’t) and the album Raising Sand by Alison Krauss and Robert Plant.

The Bellybuds arrived even sooner than expected…

The Bellybuds arrived even sooner than expected, and across the entire country! My preggo sister-in-law was ecstatic to be able to keep her baby in the soothing comfort of her favorite sounds even though my sister-in-law still has to deal with the noise of her crazy clients, complaining customers and unasked for advice from anyone that’s ever had a child. Thanks so much!

I ordered bellybuds and was very impressed with the product – not just the idea but the packaging and simplicity of it. It is minimal packaging, simple directions, and additional information if needed. Now I just need one of my friends’ children to become pregnant so I can present them with this very unique and practical gift!

A while ago I heard that music is good for upcoming babies and my wife wanted to do this so I had to put my geeky side to work and look for “Belly headphones” looking everywhere this are the ones that seemed more suitable for my need, we got them and I think they are excellent, my wife loves them and hopefully my unborn child loves them too, lol.
