The Bellybuds arrived even sooner than expected…

The Bellybuds arrived even sooner than expected, and across the entire country! My preggo sister-in-law was ecstatic to be able to keep her baby in the soothing comfort of her favorite sounds even though my sister-in-law still has to deal with the noise of her crazy clients, complaining customers and unasked for advice from anyone that’s ever had a child. Thanks so much!

I ordered bellybuds and was very impressed with the product – not just the idea but the packaging and simplicity of it. It is minimal packaging, simple directions, and additional information if needed. Now I just need one of my friends’ children to become pregnant so I can present them with this very unique and practical gift!

A while ago I heard that music is good for upcoming babies and my wife wanted to do this so I had to put my geeky side to work and look for “Belly headphones” looking everywhere this are the ones that seemed more suitable for my need, we got them and I think they are excellent, my wife loves them and hopefully my unborn child loves them too, lol.

Fun to own, work well. Great for mom and baby to listen to relaxing music together.

The best part is that you can move them around…

On June 28, 2010, in Blog, by Russ

I was a bit hesitant to purchase this product because I thought using my headphones was good enough. But when I saw my belly getting so big the headphones were stretching out, I went ahead with it. It has been a purchase I do not regret. The belly buds stick to your belly and leave no residue when you take them off. And the best part is that you can move them around to where you think your baby is. I loved this feature because I’m having twins and they are always moving around. Another great feature is the adapter that allows you to connect your headphones to the belly buds so you can hear what your baby is hearing. Great for those nights you just want to relax with your baby. It also comes with a set of replacement stickys and a cute carry case. Love this product and am recommending it to all my pregnant friends.

Three Tips on Sharing Prenatal Music With Your Developing Baby

On June 28, 2010, in Blog, by Bellybuds

Did you know that sharing music with your unborn baby can help you connect, relax, and, some research suggests, even contribute to your baby’s development? There are many times during the day when you might easily share music and other audio with the bun in your oven, as early as the second trimester. Here are some tips for making the most of this auditory bonding experience:

1. Pick the right equipment

Find a low-profile prenatal speaker system that allows you to go about your day with comfort, ease and lack of embarrassment.

Here’s why: If you rely on holding headphones to your belly, playing music louder than you feel comfortable hearing it just so your baby can, or a strap-on system that feels klunky to wear, you’ll be less likely to use it. That’s money down the drain if you bought something, and your baby loses out, too. With something discreet, comfortable and either attractive or easily concealed, you can walk, rest, run errands, work, or just hang out, all while sharing audio with your developing baby. Remember-the more effortless your equipment looks and feels, the more likely you are to use it, and the more benefit your baby will get!

2. Find music you like

Choose music you enjoy, not just music you think would be good for your baby.

Here’s why: Again, if you enjoy the music, you’ll be more likely to play it, and give your developing child the benefits. Also, when you listen to music you enjoy, your body de-stresses, which also benefits your baby. Finally, if you truly like the sounds you’re playing, and feel intuitively that your baby will, too, she probably will. That’s not to recommend harsh or extremely disjointed music, but if you truly listen to your intuition, you’ll likely share a wonderful bond as you rock down or mellow out with your little peanut.

3. Play family voices, too

Music is a great way to relax with your baby, and help him benefit from its effect, but family voices can add a whole other dimension.

Here’s why: In this day and age when extended family members often live far apart, playing a family member’s voice can help create connection across those miles. Studies show that developing babies remember human voices as early as five months.

While your baby will likely hear your voice, and anyone else’s in the household, you can also share recorded voices from aunts, uncles, grandparents, and anyone else you’d like your baby to become familiar with, while she’s still in utero. Many studies indicate that babies remember those voices after they’re born! So check whether the audio delivery system you choose makes it easy to capture and play family voices. You-and your baby’s extended family-will be glad you did.

I don’t mean to suggest everyone needs to run out and buy some crazy, expensive device. Your baby will certainly benefit from sporadic ambient audio, too. But if you find a way to share music with your little one regularly, in a way that complements, rather than interferes with your life, you begin to create a musical legacy with your baby that you can continue after she’s born. Imagine playing your favorite track to your toddler, seeing the look of recognition in her face, and being able to say, “That’s what I played to you when you were still in my tummy!”

Curtis Williams is a proud new dad, and one of the founders of Bellybuds ( http://www.bellybuds.com ), a simple, attractive and affordable prenatal music system he invented to share music and family voices with his unborn daughter, Adeline.
